Quarantine Tank Question
I am currently cycling a 10 gallon aquarium, and plan on keeping a small species of cory (like habrosus) and a small species of tetra (like ember tetras). Will a 2.5 gallon tank be a suitable quarantine tank for these species?
And if so...
I'm using an aquaclear filter for the main tank, so to cycle the quarantine tank quickly I'll need to use an aquaclear also. Is it okay to use the aquaclear 20/mini (rated for 5-20 gallons) on a 2.5 gallon if the filter is on its lowest setting?"A room without books is like a body without a soul."

If your fish are all coming from the same LFS or supplier, your 10 gal is your quarantine tank (QT). No need to use a separate QT if your fish all come from the same place and there are no existing fish in the 10 gal. Also, a minimum size for a QT is also 10 gal.My 75 gal Journal & My Dual 29 gal Journal

+ 1 to Gronlaura, as she pointed out; as long as their coming from the same source, your tank will be the OT. Now in the future if you add fish they will need to be OT.Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence.

I just set up a 20H for my quarantine tank a few months ago and I always keep 2 zebra danios and a Cory in it to keep the cycle.

No need to keep a quarantine tank running in between fish additions, unless you want to. You can run a second filter on your main tank, and move it to the QT tank when required, or use dirty media from display tank in the QT filter when you want to run the tank.
