    Default Betta Tankmates?

    0 Not allowed!

I have a 26 gallon tank with 16 neon tetras and 6 three-lined corydoras inside.
I recently obtained a betta from a friend who no longer wanted it. They were keeping it in a bowl which is obviously not good enough conditions for a fish. I was wondering if I could keep it in my current tank in piece with the current tankmates? Is my 26 gallon a suitable home for the betta? it has 2 filters rated to 30 gallons each, a heater and a large airstone so I think it could handle the extra capacity, I think it's more a case of tankmates getting along in peace.

That should work out fine. Do you have any pictures of your aquarium? The more decore (bogwood/plants) you have the more secure the neons and betta will feel.
    My therapist says I need a bigger tank . . . . .

That depends on the betta, some will accept tank mates and others not. Your tank does have room to add a betta if he is willing. However, I would make sure that infected sore he has is completely healed before adding him to the tank.
People say if you can't say something nice then don't say anything at all... Then they wonder why am I so quiet.
Everything happens for a reason. Sometimes that reason is you are stupid and make bad decisions.

I think my fish is adjusting well to the four gallon, He's laying on his side attempting to go to sleep on the bottom of the gravel.
A moderator on a fish forum should be able to identify an oscar... Don't you think?

You should also consider their temperature requirements. Corydoras in general and neon tetras like the temperature set at the cooler end of tropical, bettas the complete opposite. At the same time however, any heated, clean water is better than where it came from.
