kitty litter container/bottle safe for fish tank use?
I have a big 5gal container that was used to hold kitty litter
can i use this as a waterjug?
ive been cycling my old water through it as i empty my tanks, but im wondering if i can use it to store freshwater to put into my tanks. im currently useing a lil 1gal pale :/
there is no label on it, but i know it was used to store kitty litter... i think55gal - 9 otos, 2 fancy guppies, 15 feeder fish

I'm not too sure, but I would personally not chance it. You can get new unused 5 gal buckets at Home Depot for 5 or 6 bucks. Or go to a local Deli and see if they can give you a bucket that mayo or some other food came in. Just clean it out and you'll be good to go.

I personally wouldn't - you can go into a dollar store and get a 2.5gal bucket or a larger one as suggested above - the things I use for my tank haven't been previously touched by anything questionable - you never know and you don't want to find out it's not a good idea the hard way.46 gal fw tank with black skirt tetras, neon tetras, spotted corys, cherry barbs, otoclinus, snails & 4 amano shrimp - plastic & live plants

I definitely, definitely agree. Some kitty litter has fragrances and junk that might be bad for the fishies... My personal fish buckets have never been used for anything but fish stuff.
