kitty litter container/bottle safe for fish tank use?
I have a big 5gal container that was used to hold kitty litter
can i use this as a waterjug?
ive been cycling my old water through it as i empty my tanks, but im wondering if i can use it to store freshwater to put into my tanks. im currently useing a lil 1gal pale :/

I'm not too sure, but I would personally not chance it. You can get new unused 5 gal buckets at Home Depot for 5 or 6 bucks. Or go to a local Deli and see if they can give you a bucket that mayo or some other food came in. Just clean it out and you'll be good to go.

I personally wouldn't - you can go into a dollar store and get a 2.5gal bucket or a larger one as suggested above - the things I use for my tank haven't been previously touched by anything questionable - you never know and you don't want to find out it's not a good idea the hard way.46 gal fw tank with black skirt tetras, neon tetras, spotted corys, cherry barbs, otoclinus, snails & 4 amano shrimp - plastic & live plants

I definitely, definitely agree. Some kitty litter has fragrances and junk that might be bad for the fishies... My personal fish buckets have never been used for anything but fish stuff.I hate hearing people say "it's only a $3/$5/$1 fish/shrimp, so it's ok if it dies, I can just get another." It's still an animal! All animals should be treated like they're worth $10,000.
