I have a 30g freshwater established tank that is currently cycling after a substrate change from gravel to sand.
I am wondering if my plans for the tank exceed its capacity. I do water changes weekly and test the water twice a week right now due to the substrate change. (A big job it was, i'm so happy with the results).

    Currently in the tank are:

    - 7 Cardinal Tetras
    - 6 Pygmy Rainbowfish
    - 4 Ottocats
    - 4 Panda Corydoras
    - 1 Albino Cory Catfish
    - 1 Cory Catfish unknown type, perhaps a bronze cory-

WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO ADD:
    +1 German Blue Ram
    +3 Cardinal Tetras
    +2 Panda Corydoras
    +1 or 2 Ottocats.

The tank will have quite a few plants in it, has weekly water changes, and i plan to do these additions in a relaxed and patient manner.
I have a Fluval 206 canister filter, and a new fluval heater. I have read and understand the diets of all of the fish involved.

Am i going to overstock my tank? Please let me know and i will adjust my plans accordingly.

The main fish i would like is the GBR followed by the 2 more Panda Cories.

    Thanks for your time. :)

Sounds good to me! The GBR will also spend most of his time on the bottom of the tank.

Otos like larger schools, but that would be pushing the bottom level pretty full. Maybe a bristlenose pleco?

Like you said, you plan on adding slow, so just keep a watch on your numbers.
20 gallon with a male betta, neons, glowlights, and red cherry shrimp. (work in progess) Recently added a few LIVE plants and driftwood, Woooohoooo!

sounds good to me. I think you could even add a few more cardinals if you want. your are heavily stocked on the bottom but they are all nice choices. make sure you give your ram a little cave (I'd build one out of rock)

    Hi there
I would like to build the ram a cave but aquarium rocks are very expensive and i can't find any small enough stones in the shops around here.
Is there any type of rock I could possibly find elsewhere?
I have heard of and have seen Lava Rock- but it seems a bit sharp.
Can I just pick up a rock from the quarry, sterilize it and use that?
Thanks for your help, by the way.

As long as you test the rock with vinager and it does not "fizz" you will be alright.

Hi- I find that interesting- I didn't know that fizzing was bad. I "cleaned" two stones that i used to have in my tank with vinegar once and they fizzed. (this was last year). At the time I didn't know any better and I put them in my tank. Afterwards my fish almost all became ill and some died. I suspected the stones and removed them, but to this day I don't know what was wrong with them.
    What does the fizzing mean?

The fizzing means the rocks are calciferous, and will change the ph of the water

Do calciferous rocks drive the pH up or down?
    I am just curious-
