I don't think you need to worry about the trAtes level until you are ready to add fish...a PWC wouldn't hurt, but is probably not needed just yet....just keep dosing and feeding those BB, you are well on your way!

you don't need to do any water changes now since you're waiting until Monday to stock.
as Slap said, keep dosing the same amount of ammonia daily

then on Monday, if you're still showing 0 ammonia and nitrites after 24 hours, do a 100% water change if possible - at least 90 % to get those nitrates down to under 10. Then stock your tank that day :o)
remember - all of your BB lives in your filter media and the substrate and decorations. it does not live in the water so you can change out as much as you can before you get the fish in. After that, 30 - 50% water changes weekly depending on how high your nitrates get. If they start reading at 20 or more just before your weekly water change, then you should increase the amount of water you change out or up your smaller W/Cs to twice a week.
    make sense?

Something still just doesn't seem quite right to me. Are you sure you are testing nitrates properly? If the tank is cycled and you are adding 2ppm ammonia every day it seems to me the nitrates should be going up and not holding steady at 80ppm. I hope I am wrong, but I would hate for you to stock this tank thinking it was cycled and it really wasn't.

I think my fish is adjusting well to the four gallon, He's laying on his side attempting to go to sleep on the bottom of the gravel.
Tolerance is a great thing to have, so is the ability to shut up.

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

Mommy1 its more higher in between 80 and 160. I just went with the 80 because that's what I was thinking at the time I was typing. But it is high and everything else is staying steady.

All my tanks get 50% WC once a week no matter what. I see my fish are more active with those % of WC

All the more reason to wait. It's usually a better idea to play it safe than rush things in this hobby.

My next day off is wed, so I'll be watching it and adding ammonia until then. If everything looks good then I'll do by Tuesday night ill do a Full WC that night and then check everything wed morning. If all is good I'll go fish shopping.

    Hey Dean,
What day did you FIRST add ammonia, to start a cycle, the day you overdosed and started doing WC's to bring it down?
