How about Prime to condition/dechlorinate the water?

Oh, I've got that, forgot to put it on the list though. Also, I'm using the API water conditioner, is that alright? Or is their a significant difference with prime?
Also, edited it onto the list
    Edit:
Hm, for some reason I can't edit that one post with tapatalk right now. I'll try to do that later when I'm on the computer

You don't need the API conditioner if you have Prime...but you MUST have the API Master Test Kit to get going on your cycle

Sorry, I meant I have water conditioner, but not prime, the API one.

There's nothing wrong with using API water conditioner - the main thing is you're using water conditioner. However, Prime uses half the amount as API (I used API myself before I switched).

For my 46gal tank, I used 2 capfuls of API at each water change (because I put in enough for the entire tank at each water change) - with Prime, I use 4 capful - it's more economical and from what I've read here, Prime is considered a better product than API.

Ooops, maybe you got that backwards as far as dosing goes?...I can't understand how 2 capfuls could be less economical than 4 (?)...unless the "caps" are significantly different sizes

Well, just need to go get the ammonia from ace and wait for the heater to arrive (it should in 2 days).
Is it okay for me to put in the sand/water/decor/plants now?
Also, the ph of my tap water is right at the top of the ph range for my desired fish. Will they be able to become acclimated to it?

Yes, you can put in all that stuff, can't remember are you doing live plants or artificial?..Depending on the temp of your house, you may want to wait on the plants (if live) until you get your heater..If you haven't rinsed the sand yet, you may want to do that first...otherwise, you can start adding the stuff to your tank...no reason to fill it full of water just yet, that way you can move stuff around without making a mess until you get it like you like it

As far as ph goes, stability is most important...if your tap ph is within the range for the fish you want, don't worry about it...lots of times people make tank water conditions more stressful for fish by messing with ph levels...don't worry about ph for now
