    Well... There was an issue with getting the payment to them (the store) so It seems I'll be waiting till this coming Tuesday.. Now I'll have time to get that Prefilter sponge and some more plants at least! :)

    Live plants are best, many of them are very easy to keep and grow, even for a beginner. But there's nothing wrong with silk plants, either.

    Well, I ran home during my lunch break... And everything's going well! :) well, it ENDED well at least. According to my Mom, 1 of the corys arrived dead, but the store had accidentally sent me 9 instead of 8, so while I feel bad for the one dead fish, the rest are fine as is the stock number. Also, right as I got home... The filter stopped working. >.< luckily I only had to clean some gunk out of the motor to get it to work. Oh, and I had added more plants (yes, silk). I'll take a picture once I get home from school again and post it. All In all, it turned out nicely! Thank you all for your help!!

    Great to hear, buddy! Congrats on the new fish, you will want to keep the tank fairly dark for the first day, and don't feed until tomorrow

    Get us some pics when you can, if you have to wait until tomorrow because of the lighting, no big deal

    I am excited for you, and excited for the future pics...great job!

    Okay, pictures coming tomorrow! :)
    Anyway, the corys average just over half an inch, and the tetras just under half an inch. The corys are swimming around exploring already which seems like a good sign, while the ember tetras will sit in one place for a few moments, then dart an inch forward and repeat the process, but they're becoming more active even as I type this. Another thing I take to be a good sign is that the fish all appear to be schooling.

    They might school for a little while until they become more secure, but don't worry when they start to do their own thing. My habrosus are often apart, maybe a couple together here and there, although my chilis stay more or less together. I'm not familiar with the tetras you got so not sure how they will act for you.

    Okay, good to know! And I should turn the lights on tomorrow, right? I think I've heard that they should be on 8-10 hours a day, so does turning them on at 7am and off at 4pm sound like a good plan?
    Oh, and I know it's not the Same for everybody, but for feeding the fish... How much should they be fed/how should they be fed? And since the tropical flakes are about as big as one of the ember tetra's heads, should I break them apart a little smaller?
