I will drop the height some these first pics are just an initial layout.

I will take the bottom shape and layer abt 4 layers the same to equal the depth of my sand. this is 1/2 inch foam so I can give it a shale type look like you would see in some areas of jungle rivers (I got to see a lot in Thailand and Cambodia in the military so I have the idea in my head)

I will add a lot of little overhangs and caves for my fishies to hide.

    Helper Gizmo is very cute.

My concern with the frog is that this tank is 20 inches tall and they need to come up for air.

ok yea Laura there's plenty of room for him there's the recessed lip in the tank and I will be building a hood for it so there will be plenty of room for the Lil critter. they really are cool and they live a really long time.

Okay. My concern was him/her having to continually swim so far to the top for air and becoming fatigued.

no they actully hang motionless at the surface and you thing they dead sometimes as they are nocturnal. they can hang at the surface without moving a muscle for up to 18 hrs at a time )) but I will have something close to the top that he can hang out on and stay underwater but just have to poke his head up and they dont jump so he wont jump out

Same here, never kept frogs but did have a Red bellied salamander in my community tank back in the 70's.

Ok I got some more stuff done and wife came home sick tonight so i took advantage and got some silicone for gluing everything together and some krylon fusion regular to paint the insides of the caves as I stack them.

I am showing several of this as it will be hidden later on but these are some of the little ground level caves for my corys and frogs and other bottom dwellers.

Also Gizmo had to get into the scene again and in one the pics the blurry one, you can see the computer table and the aquarium so that kinda gives a layout of the room.

I will start making not so short layers next but I had to make a bottom section
