You are quite welcome...yeah, nitrItes finally getting down to 0 is what took the longest during my cycle, I think at least 2 weeks...maybe fishies for the grandkids by New Year?...but you may get lucky and have them drop quicker than I did

well I seen on several other forums at this point I should do a PWC so that the levels come down to something readable on the chart so I can track it better.

You can do that if you want but it serves no real purpose other than to slow down the cycle (in my opinion). What does it matter if your readings are maximum or above maximum for the test readout? During the nitrite phase you merely test once a day and bring the ammonia back up to 2ppm when it reaches zero.

Do not do a PWC, it's a waste of time and effort at this point. You don't need to do one until you are cycled and need to lower your nitrates so you can add your fish.

okey dokey thanks guys. man long day testifying in court on an accident case tomorrow have to go babysit grand kids in the afternoon.

well my driftwood came in today and it looks nothing like the advertised piece. and no it said the piece I was buying was the one in the pic. again that's what I get for doing business online with some random guy. but oh well I got a nice place for it it doesn't look too bad. just tiny and only one piece not the joined one like shown and small in dimensions.
