PRECISELY....Joe, I am just relating how I did it for my first big tank, with excellent results...and I am one of MANY who I believe have done it this way here on the AC, with premium results, that is why I followed to a "T" what the folks here had to say

As with any subject, the interweb can give you awesome info, and bogus info...for fishkeeping, I keep it right here on the AC...if the members here recommend a read from a different location on the web, I'm all ears...uh, eyes...you know what I mean

also I been adjusting my heater it kicked up to abt 83 deg so I dropped it down to 21 on the heater and will see where that sets me to. it started at max of 35 so we shall see. I want to get the aquarium to abt 80 is where I want it for normal running.

Couple Close-up Pics of my rocks and wood.

Slappy to answer your earlier I have my output for my filter on the left side wall facing length wise so it pushes the water left to right across the aquarium. it is also slightly angled down and with the little particles still floating its creating almost a figure 8 of water movement. so will be plenty of nice circulation around the entire tank top and bottom

Are the rocks in the first pic siliconed together?...no harm now, but you don't want them to come tumbling down once fish are in there...I think if I were you i would scatter the rocks in the 2nd pic around a bit

As far as the spraybar, lots of us here angle the water flow slightly UPWARD in order to get a little turbulence on the surface of the water, in order to encourage gas exchange, but that is up to you

no none of the rocks are siliconed and they go all the way to the bottom so diggers cant dig under them. they are stacked pretty snugly a fish would really have to push hard with friends to topple them.

exchanging what gasses? I have it tilted at an angle down in order to keep the entire tank flowing evenly as I want my chemicals etc to disperse nicely as I cycle etc. can always be changed later.

well got my fishes man caves in place when the Java Moss grows I will wrap it over the front to hide the tubes better and will make little holes in it so the fish can enter their man caves
