Tonight I started to shape my 3D Background I will attach it with Rare Earth Magnets as this way my glass stays clean from silicone, it can be removed if needed for cleaning, or it can easily be removed and replaced with a different background if I ever wanted to for some reason.

I will drop the height some these first pics are just an initial layout.

I will take the bottom shape and layer abt 4 layers the same to equal the depth of my sand. this is 1/2 inch foam so I can give it a shale type look like you would see in some areas of jungle rivers (I got to see a lot in Thailand and Cambodia in the military so I have the idea in my head)

I will add a lot of little overhangs and caves for my fishies to hide.

My little Helper Gizmo had to get his mug into the shot he is my 10 yr old American Eskimo. Behind him you can see my bag of sand, and the sand is leaning against my computer desk so you can see since i spend abt 16-18 hrs a day doing my cad work I can watch my fish all day. When I do more on it tomorrow I will do a wide shot so you can get an idea of where and how it will be with the computer in there.

Now I have one half of it with a wall and the rocks will taper in towards the glass. I then want to add 2 smaller formations on the other side with a gap between them for my filter stem that sticks down as I will be using a top mounted waterfall type.

In between the background now showing and the next one I want to hide but incorporate a LED bubbler.

the curving shapes of the rocks I figure will make a small current along the rocks as water is drawn towards the intake.

End of Day 1 of my Journal
