So... Friday is looking like the day of closing.... I can't believe it!

But on that note, I have a list longer than my arm of things that need done, any cost savings tips / advice or even ways to make a job easier would be greatly welcomed

    1. Remove about 120' of chainlink fence (I might have ppl coming to get it as scrap and will help take it down)
    2. Install 64' of wood fence
    3. Clean Gutters
    4. Seal Gutters (as needed)
    5. Replace Gutter Nails with screws (only where needed - probably 20-30 spots)
    6. Rebuild stairs to backporch (3 steps / little 4'x4' landing)
    7. Trim Tree / remove large bushes from backyard
    8. Remove all existing staples from previous carpet in hardwood
    9. Paint Basement
    10. Paint Closets
    11. Paint Ceilings
    12. Paint Trim
    13. Remove Wall Paper
    14. Patch a 12" Round Hole in Drywall
    15. Spackle
    16. Sand
    17. Paint Walls (almost everywhere)

Early on I need to remove glass shower doors - fill screw holes, and then install a shower curtain (we would like the bowed out type)

I'm sure I'm missing a ton here. But this is just the start

Sounds like this hobby might "take a back seat" for awile, LOL. You are going to be busy my friend.

yes, the fish hobby will be maintained, but not expanded for at least 2-3 months. When I move the 75 (mid dec) I'll be changing it up a bit, but thats all that is in the works for fish stuff

Do you have a menards hardware store nearby? They run all sorts of deals where items are free after a rebate that comes as a store credit check. Then just use the check to buy the next batch and keep going. One of the best things I got recently is 5 gallons of white ceiling paimt for free. Also 30 drawer knobs worth about $80.

For other tips know what you can and cant do yourself and how your homeowners insurance is affected if you do it ourselves. With our old policy when we had a hot water heater burst and floodour place they would not have paid the claim if we had installed it ourselves in the first place.

    Good luck.

Yea no menards - I have Lowes, Home Depot, and Walmart as my only options for this stuff :(

I am not doing any mechanical changes... thank god...
