So I found another 55 Gal on craigslist I ended up trading a new tent for the tank and stand. It also came with fish That I had to put in my med tank because this tank was really nasty!

    The fish.
    8 Tetras
1 big cat fish looking fish going to LFS tomorrow the guy said it will get to 14 inches.
    1 clown loch(spell check)
1 Puffer not sure what kind or how big it will get.
1 Big blue lobster looking thing.

Not sure if I want to do freshwater and keep the tetras, Puffer and clown loch or take them all to LFS and do a nice reef tank instead of the Nano I was planning to do with one of my ten gal tanks.

you can't see the puffer but its green with black spots.

The clown loach really is not suited for a 55 gallon tank, and many puffers need brackish or marine waters.

But that tank would make a great set-up for tetras or even a marine / reef tank.

    Congrats on the new find

Nice find, like Cliff said that tank would be great for tetras, like maybe a big school of 50+ Cardinals.

Would you want to have this as a planted tank ?

I'm thinking if I go freshwater then I would do plants and sand bottom. Then leave my other tank the way it is. Was also thinking an all barb tank. really would like to do reef but that takes a lot more funds then the freshwater and I also have everything I need for freshwater since I have my other 55 gal as freshwater.

A 55 makes a nice planted tank - congrats on your trade!
I returned to the hobby in 2011 with a 55 planted. Now I enjoy the plants as much as the fish (shhh - don't tell anyone here! ) After a few more planted tanks in addition to my 55, I now like my planted tanks to have more front-to-back room. The 12.5" width of a 55 is a little narrow sometimes for what I'd like to do aquascape-wise with large sword plants. That being said, I still have my 55 planted and enjoy it immensely.
