Specimen Photos: Dwarf Giraffe Catfish
So I have kept an African Dwarf Giraffe catfish for approximately 2 years. Got it at an inch big. Problem is he is basically completely nocturnal, rarely see him at dusk lighting. So used this old tank to take 'specimen' photos.
Apologies- the main tank has new wood in it, hence the discoloured water.
I am no photographer. Finally I didnt want to put a spot light on the fish as it was stressed enough. Size is approx 5 inches the now, excluding whiskers.
I love this species as they give the appearance of a giant, with manageable proportions haha, enjoy

Great looking catfish Scotty! It's nice that there is an option like that for people who do not have giant tanks.

Thanks KingFisher, the species is one of those that not a lot is known of them. I have it in several books saying max size is 6inch, 8inch and 10inch. So there is a chance that he may not fit my current tank. However I want to try and add to the pool of knowledge available. Also the internet has generally only juveniles 1-2inch pictures. My therapist says I need a bigger tank . . . . .
