Thread: Light Glare

    Default Light Glare

How does everyone reduce or handle the glare of the lights?

I have a DIY CFL fixture light built into the old flourscent tube housings, but since they sit on the rim and center brace of the aquarium, they are like 1/4" off of the top glass... this 1/4" allows me to see the light and drastically reduces the appeal of the tank when looking across the room at it

    Any ideas?

I put a black plastic strip on the front of my fixture so I could not see that. I just have it leaning against it for now but I have been planning on attaching it.

I don't have a pic but it is just two pieces of door threshhold strips that I painted black. I had them in my vast " i could use this for something" pile but I know they sell several types at Lowes and Home Depot.

I noticed that after I de-rimmed my tank, the light glare was very bad.
So I used the de-rimmed plastic to make a shrould for my Finnex fugeray led.
