I was reading some info on this fish and came across this
It’s a schooling species by nature and really should be kept in a group of at least 20-30 specimens. Maintaining it in decent numbers will not only make the fish less nervous but will result in a more effective, natural-looking display. Males will also display their best colours and some interesting behaviour as they compete with one other for female attention. We don’t advise mixing the different colour forms though as unnecessary hybridisation might occur.

so I am wondering, I know people get all worked up about hybrids but if it is between different colors of the same fish species would there be a problem with incompatible genes?
I cant find any info on axelrodi hybrids, no pics, nothing. Has anyone kept these fish before and had them breed ? I am curious if they come out deformed, unique colors, or what . I was hoping to get these fish someday and get different colors, around 6 of each color and see f they school together , if not I'd add more of each color to chill em out etc etc.
so yea then I read that bit about them hybridizing, now I am all filled with questions I cant find online
    p.s

    such a gorgeous fish.
