That's not a bad price at all, as it works out to $11 per fish. Pencilfish are expensive (except for the common beckfordi). I paid $15 each for my Nannostomus mortenthaleri and even more for the N. rubrocaudatus.
I have been wanting N. espei for years; I had a group back in the 1980's but haven't seen them in stores since then. I see them online now and then, like at The Wet Spot and often Corys-R-Us, so they are available from time to time. And I agree a nice fish. The only species in the genus that maintains the "night pattern" of broken horizontal bars in the day; all other species in this genus have horizontal stripes that break up in darkness.
