Large black mass under chin
My blue gouramis has a black mass under its chin. He seems very lethargic and has decreased oral intake. Have tried a tonic bath and peas incase it's constipation but nothing has helped and the mass keeps increasing in size. Have attached a photo if you zoom in you can see the black mass.

I would say he's constipated - badly. My little blue gourami used to do that on occasion.
For now, stop feeding him until he passes this poo. Try adding 1/2 tsp of epsom salt per gallon for a soak (I'd put him in a QT if you have one). also check the water temp. sometimes that can interfer with proper digestion. should be 77 - 82 for a dw gourami.
When he recovers, check his diet. if it's too rich in protien or fat this might be causing the constipation problem.
