Thanks. I love research, and now being retired have the time to do it. And I always like to know all that I can about whatever I am into, in this case fish. Plus I have a bit of a scientific leaning, almost went into biology had it not been for a high school science teacher I detested.

AH, that explains it. See I know a bunch of general info regarding lots of fish, but you pull out all the scientific stuff and I just get lost lol

Here's another very attractive Cory to suggest for you; Corydoras weitzmani . I don't know if you have access to them and they are on the expensive side here $18.00 for wild cought and $10.00 for tank raised.

I have 2 paleatus Corydoras in my tank along with 6 false bandit corys.
The 2 Paleatus have the LONGEST dorsal fins I've ever seen. One's dorsal fin flows back past its tail. It's a very camera shy and I've been unsuccessful getting a good photo but if I ever do, I'll post it. It's quite amazing. If you could find some of those, I think you'd really enjoy them
This sounds like a fun tank Amelia.

The "fourth" neon species? Heiko Bleher told me about that [he was thrilled, as he said that Dr. Jacques Gery had one of those intuitions that with the cardinal/false neon pair there may likely be a second neon species somewhere, and it was rumoured to be in the Rio Purus area--and Heiko finally found it], but he also did an article in TFH on the four neons, and detailed his expedition to find the fourth in the second part. The articles were "A Story of Four Neon Tetras, Part 1: The First Three Neons," and "...Part 2: And Now a Fourth Neon!" in the August and October 2008 issues of Tropical Fish Hobbyist. I have these, and if this is what you meant, let me know and I will scan Part 2 and post it.

Do you have other references to this fourth species? Would love to see them if online.

I will go ahead and scan the article, it is only four pages, and has some nice colour photos of the new fish. But after I get back from my doggie walk with the neighbour.

Sorry about that, I'm thinking of letting my subscription expire also, for the same reasons

OK, I scanned the fourth tetra article and started a new thread as we are getting far off the topic in this one.
