I hope you will be able to deal with the ich issue also - 20% water changes every 2 weeks is far from adequate for such a heavily stocked tank - and especially with that pleco in there - it produces a ton of waste.

At this point, worrying about algae is the least of your problems - I would be changing 50-75% of the water twice a day (AM & PM) to not only remove nitrates but vacuum the gravel thoroughly to suck up the parasites from the bottom (when they fall off the fish).
46 gal fw tank with black skirt tetras, neon tetras, spotted corys, cherry barbs, otoclinus, snails & 4 amano shrimp - plastic & live plants
    5 gal QT
Remember: Our job is to take care of the water our fish live in

everyone is giving you great advice. I hope you are hearing what everyone has said and that is that your tank is grossly over stocked. Angel fish cannot survive in that small tank. A 30 gallon is generally considered the smallest tank for a single angel. So sorry but you need to get them out of there as soon as you clear up the ich issue. Also the plecos. no room. Sorrry
Good luck getting the ich under control. oh - and btw - it has been mentioned but no salt. it could kill the plecos who are scaleless fish.
30 g FW planted:corys, ABNP, blue angel, harleys, zebra danios, nerites & mystery snails
15 g FW planted: crown tail betta, neons, snails
90 g FW semi planted: Blood Parrots, severum, Jurupari, EBJD, congos, kribs, clown pleco, snails

Thank you all for your advice. I had a 250 lt, home made tank for 18 years and i got used to have many species :-/

I will give away the Angels and Plecos as soon as Ich goes away.

I am worried about Plecos, they keep stay still at the gravel for many hours when i am not around or dont feed them. Could Ich be lethal and loose them?

Plecos are quiet. generally they find a spot they like and stay there. the ich is not good for them but, if as already advised you treat by upping the temp to at least 86F, keeping it there for 7 days AFTER you see the last spot, they should survive.
    Good luck to you

I hope they all survive. Luckily only the Platy are infected so far.

The others are most likely also infected. Ich starts in the gills. Often fish suffer from the ich protozoan long before you see it.

I added a late note on my other comment - what is the skimmer for? generally you only see protein skimmers in sw tanks.

Thank you a lot. I really appreciate your advice. When i get rid of the Ich, i will ask for more advice in order to improve my tank.

My apologies. I've been reading too many posts and got your thread mixed up with another one. The question was meant for another thread :o(
