Hi there my gold Severum has developed a sore on the top of its fin, in trying to establish what this is and what treatment I should get. I think it's some sort of worm parasite but I'm not sure. Any help would be much appreciated as I wouldn't want to loose the big guy!!

How do I upload pictures ?

It is likely not a parasite(or at least not a "worm") because those will tend to have recognizable body parts.
Could the fish have been injured by a tankmate or a decoration?

People say if you can't say something nice then don't say anything at all... Then they wonder why am I so quiet.
Everything happens for a reason. Sometimes that reason is you are stupid and make bad decisions.

I think my fish is adjusting well to the four gallon, He's laying on his side attempting to go to sleep on the bottom of the gravel.
A moderator on a fish forum should be able to identify an oscar... Don't you think?

No need to yell. I saw your post after I posted. My first thought from the close up was an anchor worm, but I don't see a worm. Looking at the second picture, is it possible one of those balas bit the sev?
