Red Line Tetra
0
Here is a fish that I have always desired since I first read about it in 2007. I've tried to find them everywhere from Aquabid to TWS and even some connections on our forum but no luck.
Scientific name; Hyphessobrycon amapaensis, if anybody has any information on where to purchase these, please let me know, I would realy appriciate it. They are similer to another species I've never found: the Flag tetra, H. heterorhabdus
Lots of great information on them here: http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j...55617003,d.cGE

Cool looking little fish.
Sorry I can't offer much help finding them. I hope you will be able to find some
If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

I've never seen these locally either, and I haven't looked online since bringing fish into Canada from the US (where one is likley to find rare species) has its own problems. But as you are in California, you might want to check The Wet Spot in Portland, Oregon. Here is their website:

I've not been there, but I have heard many good reports of their fish and reliability. They will surely be able to tell you if acquiring this species is possible.
I thought I did find these a couple years ago, the store had them listed as red line tetra, and they were very similar. I acquired a group, but Heiko Bleher was able to properly ID them and they were something different.

Something we all need to remember: The fish you've acquired was quite happy not being owned by you, minding its own business. Thanks Genocidex, I will give that a try.
Byron, I've given the wet spot (I'm one of their biggest supporters) a shot, even asked Anthony (sales manager) to find some, but thanks for the suggestion.
