Intrigue Grows Over Purpose Of Google's Mysterious Floating Barge In san Francisco ba

In 2009 Google received a patent for a "floating data center". The idea is to use sea water to cool the servers. I am not saying that this is what they are building, but it seems a more likely theory than a huge floating super store.
I don't think CBS did a particularly good reporting job here... the article seems more speculation that fact. I think CNET did a better job of reporting on this one.

That seems plausible. I could also imagen that they are researching wave power, especially submersed wave power. To much money in electricity for them to ignore the potentiall there.
They might even try to build a floating datacenter that can get both cooling and electricity from the water.Do as I say. Not as I do.

Well if they do it correctly wouldnt thwy be able to use wave power to pump the sea water to cool rather than an electric pump.... Either way, i think its a cool idea, float it near the equator throw some good solar pannels on it and use wave power... Going to be fun to see what the final draft of the project is...KING OF THE GOLD BARBS RAWR!!!!
I wonder if i plant one of my tiger barbs would the demon seed grow to a full tree?
gotta love them bunnies!
