For friends of Mith........some very sad news
Thank you to mommy1 for letting me know that Mith died Sept 19th in his sleep. He joined AC in January 2009 with the interest of keeping fish and didn't know a thing about it. Through everyone's help here, he learned quickly with a few errors on the way. 2 years ago he invested in a 130 gallon and was pretty proud of that.
He stopped posting here some time ago but would still pop in every month or so to write me a message. I checked today and my last message from him was dated 10 days prior to his death. He said his interest in keeping fish had gotten lax but he was going to get into it again, he had ordered a bunch of plants and a new plant light and he was ready to take off again.
Mith was a character here and always in a fun spirit. Even if you sent him a PM to give him hell, he would just laugh and then calm down for about a week. I could never understand why a young guy that had so many here his age to talk to would always make sure he posted to the only 70 year oldie. But he always took time to send Hobbs a hello and tell me how he was doing.
Ya know, a couple of years ago, he asked me what I was getting for Christmas. I told him we didn't do presents. A week later he asked me for my address so I told him he had better not be sending me a picture of himself in his thong!!!! But he sent me a lovely Christmas card with $100. I thought at the time that if he could be so kind to a total stranger, he must be some special kind of friend to those near and dear to him.
Rest in Peace Mith

Yes Strider, it certainly is. I'm so glad mommy1 let me know or I'd be wondering what happened to him when I didn't hear anything from him anymore.
If anyone wants to read any of Mith's posts, just go into Advanced search and put Mith in the User name box.

Mith will continued to be missed hereIf you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

Rest in peace my friend. When I go fishing I just place a sharp rock in the water and sit there waiting for all the dead fish to float to the top... Kingfisher
Everything Happens for a reason. Sometimes that reason is you are stupid and make bad decisions.
I think my fish is adjusting well to the four gallon, He's laying on his side attempting to go to sleep on the bottom of the gravel.
A moderator on a fish forum should be able to identify an oscar... Don't you think?
