anyone know what this is?
Any ideas? If really like it out of my tank. It's starting to grow on my plants more too.

Never seen anything like this before. What is its structure? Is it slimy? Stringy? Does it fall apart easily or is it tough? Have you tried removing it yet? Was it hard to remove? Did it grow back and how fast? Does it grow in low or high light? Low or high current?
What are your water parameters, especially nitrate?
What animals do you have in the tank?
My best guess right now is some kind of fungus...

almost want to say Utricularia aka bladderwort, (carnivorous aquatic plant that eats microscopic organisms) the root system of U.bisquamata and few other species of bladderwort looks almost identical to that, the problem is it needs EXTREMELY soft water, most usually anything over 50 tds will kill the plant. People do find them a lot as stowaway's in the pots of Pitcher plants, venus flytraps, etc but I've never seen one used in an aquarium that has fish in it though. Above posts are probably right, some form of algae or maybe a fungus (not exactly sure what the difference between the two is). Do you have bottom feeders and if so do they eat this stuff or stay away from it?
