Heat treatment again!
Well I guess 12 days the first time around did some good. Guess I'll try it and hope to catch the rest off guard once again. since I only see a couple specks on my black neon tetras.

When using the heat method to cure ich you really need to use salt. Heat doesn't kill ich, it only speeds up the life cycle and its a crap shoot if you get them all before they have a chance to attach to the fish again. Salt disrupts the outer membrane during the vulnerable stage of ich and kills it. Some people get lucky with only heat, but most do not. When I go fishing I just throw sharp rocks in the water and wait for the dead fish to float to the top... Kingfisher
Everything happens for a reason. Sometimes that reason is you are stupid and make bad decisions.
I think my fish is adjusting well to the four gallon, He's laying on his side attempting to go to sleep on the bottom of the gravel.

We need to know the fish before going this route which can cause more problems. Salt should never be used with soft water fish, as the effects of salt at any strength sufficient to do any good will cause internal problems and add more stress.
Raising the heat to around 90F, if the fish can manage with this (not all can), will kill ich. At 86F the same is said to occur. You need to keep this for at least a week, preferably two weeks.

Something we all need to remember: The fish you've acquired was quite happy not being owned by you, minding its own business. If you’re going to take it under your wing then you’re responsible for it. Every aspect of its life is under your control, from water quality and temperature to swimming space. [Nathan Hill in PFK]

Since 12 days of raised temperature did not work the first time, I would try ich meds. Be sure to add an airstone and do not increase the heat if you use the meds. Half doses may be used if you have sensitive fish.

Ok I read some post wrong in my other post. I retread them again and feel I may have turned the heat down before I was supost to. I'll try the heat once again and do it right this time around. My poor fish must hate me by now
