yep, from what I've been told growth is pretty quick and planted tank guys love this stuff, even when grown emersed like I am doing

I imagine it grows faster emersed, yeah? Light doesn't have to travel through the water column, so there's probably not a lot of PAR loss.

yep, I've been told a 2x2 piece will turn into a 4x4 in about 2-3 months, you just need to top off the water, it has unlimited CO2, as much water as you provide, and then the light (gonna be a 2x39W t5ho)

Save yourself some dough and just get 3 clamp on lights and 3 6500k cfls. Unless you need a pretty fixture lol

Actually the clamp on lights around here are $8-10 each, plus the cfl's are like $4 each for 23W... vs the 2x39W t5ho is only $45. Works out to around the same cost

Might end up doing the CFL still, at least the bulb replacement would be cheaper....

Need to come up with a way to support the clamp on lights though underneath the top tank

Couldn't you build a fixture for three of those clamps (so that you didn't have to use the clamps), that you could hang from the ceiling, so that they point straight down at the tank?

Yea it is a double 30g breeder stand, and this is the bottom tank, I could just hang a light, but that'd drive me nuts having the chains / string hanging next to the other tank lol
