Triton's Dirted 75 Community
Ok, so with the move coming up I am considering a massive over-haul on the 75 since it will be torn apart...
This needs to be on a budget since things are tight enough with the new house etc
I am thinking a background similar to this
Thought would be to use 1" foam, eggcrate, lava rock, great stuff, dry lok and sand
Thinking of having the left 1/3 of the tank in the back 10-12" be a raised planter bed probably 6" high, the rock / dirt look work will cover the entire background, with filter intakes hidden by embedding 1.5" pvc into the wall as it is made
The center / right side will have the current driftwood that is on the left side of the tank
I need ideas on look, finish and types of plants. For plants I am running about 100W of CFL, dosing ferts and metricide daily as well as root tabs... but still would say it is low-mid tech with mid level lighting

So talking to a friend, he has a 75 that we could build in and mock up the rock formations
These are similar to the look I'm hoping for
I will have a bit more space between them, but all they are is great stuff, eggcrate, rock, dry-lok, and sand
My goal is to have two large rock formations with the one piece of driftwood.
Lots of crypts, temple plant, ludiwiga and java fern, maybe a few vals... excited since we plan to start the layout saturday

I think I'm still planning on using the black, right now I am using black felt fabric and I love it, But I could always go no background in the tank depending on if the rock formations would hide all the wires etc
I need to try to get my hands on some rocks that are a bit rough in shape / look

well tentative close is around Nov 11th ish.... if thats the case, we will have my current place till around 12/1 maybe 12/15 so that painting etc can happen.
The tank will be moved somewhere in that range... i dread that day already because I know moving everyone will be an all day project.
Already told the fiance that the location we pick for the tank is it. Once it is filled, it does not move lol
We are gonna put a book shelf on each side of the tank for a nicer look, I might paint the stand/trim black if I do that. Will be a fun (not) project to do if so
Thought process is that we move the tank / fish, the fish get split between 2 30g breeders as a temp home and then 75 gets set back up over a few days.
