An unexpected way to spend my wedding anniversary
So, I have not been active here for the past 2 days or so. Yesterday morning I started suffering from a sudden and severe migraine. I used to get them as a kid, but I have now identified my triggers and stay well away from them, so I haven't really had a bad one in over 20 years. Yesterday's was unexpected, unexplained, and as severe as I ever had. After 18 hours laying awake in bed in severe, crippling pain where even the slightest light or sound was painful, and trying any number of medicines to no effect (both over the counter, and prescriptions my doctor gave me), I finally ended up in the ER this morning. They pumped me full of some drug cocktail, which finally made the pain subside and allowed me to sleep for a bit. I am now back home after spending the day there. Pain is pretty much gone, thankfully, but I need to take it easy, rest and stay hydrated for the next day or so to minimize the chances of a recurrence.
The worst part is that today is my 18th wedding anniversary, and we spent it in the ER. I need to take it very easy tonight so there is no chance of doing anything. I will try to make it up to my wife tomorrow in some way.
I had also planned on finishing my stand so I could finally set up and start cycling my 29g, but between my visit to the ER and this Karen storm giving us non-stop rain in the east coast, it doesn't look like that is going to happen now.
Nonetheless, I am incredibly thankful that the pain is gone. My poor kids were scared to see me that way.
Never a dull moment!

I hate migraines ! I get them all the time with all the stress and crud bad diet ect. Sometimes magnesium takes it away, sounds weird but it works some times. But i understand the pain when nothing helps! My dr gave me a script for a massive pain med but i can only get 2 at a time and it needs approval before its refilled.KING OF THE GOLD BARBS RAWR!!!!

Take care of yourself first.
I had to take my daughter in to get her chin sewn up on her 5th birthday. Important days always seem to have something happen.

Glad you are feeling better now.If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

I agree...not a nice way to spend an anniversary! But do postpone it until YOU feel good. If you don't, it just doesn't pan out regardless...why don't you just reschedule for next weekend?

Ah, migraines, familiar with them myself.
Look on the positive side, if you feel fit again next week you're owed some celebration. And in 20 years this one's good for a chuckle and goes on the list with the one where one of your (grand)kids was sick all over your good suit and the one where you was 30 minutes late in the restaurant because your dog has misplaced your car keys.
