Impact Mark on Glass
Good morning everybody!
Last night I was re-arranging some rock decor in my 29 gallon setup and I ever so slightly tapped the front pane of the tank with a piece of slate. I was being so careful! Anyways, it left a very tiny mark on the inside glass, not even a millimeter in diameter. I can barely feel it with my finger and my boyfriend can't feel it at all (guess those rough "man hands" make a difference, lol). Of course, now I'm paranoid about the structural integrity of the tank and that tiny mark turning into a crack. It doesn't look like it's changed overnight. It's so tiny I don't even think I could take a picture of it. Of course now that I know it's there that's all I see when I look at the tank.
I did a bunch of searching on google and most of the impact chips I read about were much larger and/or on the corners. This one is about mid-way down the tank and about 5" from the edge. Some of what I read said no worries while some was the complete opposite. Like I said, this is so tiny it looks like a speck - at first I thought it was a grain of sand or dirty spot. What are your thoughts?

I would not worry about it, if I were you...since it is on the front pane, it will be easy to keep an eye on, but don't worry about a tiny scratch...I did the same thing on the BACK pane of my tank....was so mad at myself for being such a clutz, but I had totally forgotten about it, until now...

I was able to take a rather horrid out of focus picture of the speck. Please keep in mind that this could easily be confused visually with a teeny air bubble or floating detritus. Actually you can see that it does blend in quite well with the air bubbles being pushed around by the filter! Even though it's out of focus, I was able to see that it doesn't seem to have any lines forming out of it:
