  1. Default Help me in selecting right stuff

Now what, I am as good as a beginner because I became serious after 3 yrs.

I have a small 106 ltrs tank and I have mixed stuff there, here vendors define fish categories as "soft" and "hard" - Is that correct way to describe???

    Whatever they say, I have
    2- Jewel chichlid (sure)
    1- Lemon cichlid (sure)
    4- Yoyo Loach (sure)
    1- Parrot cichlid (sure)
1- Sucker- Not sure about name
1- Tetra- Not sure about name
2- Purple kind chichlid- Not sure about name

    Is that correct combination?

And they say that these are hard fishes and cant be kept with soft fishes- is that true? In past i have kept various fishes randomly and many have died.. but after i saw this board, I am very much exited to do this hobby very seriously and i need all your support and suggestion.

ps- i am not very good in communication- so please don't mind my English just keep on suggesting/ replying my queries. It will motivate me more.

The fish you have pictured looks like an African cichlid, although I have zero experience in that field so I wont comment further.

I think your fish vendors may be referring to the pH in your water. Hard water being ph above 7 and soft water being below 7. This will restrict what will be able to live in your tank.

    From what you have listed I can separate them like this ;

Hard water species - Jewel cichlid, lemon cichlid, perhaps purple cichlid as I am unfamiliar with them.
Soft water species - yoyo loach, parrot cichlid, suckers, tetra.

All of those are rough guesses until we were 100% certain of identity as many fish in the hobby have overlapping common names.

Id say your tank has too many different types of fish in it and it wont be large enough for an adult parrot fish. If you could give us a reading of your pH level then we could help you better stock your tank. Also what filtration are you running and are they cycled filters? Sorry if this may sound a bit like jargon the now
    My therapist says I need a bigger tank . . . . .

Also what filtration are you running and are they cycled filters? Sorry if this may sound a bit like jargon the now- i am okay with it. At this moment I have simple air filter -mechanically operated

That stock is asking for trouble. Those jewels are aggressive as sin, the parrots wont stand a chance. That purple cichlid u posted looks like a mbuna (aggressive african cichlid) not sure wat the actual name is tho. But if i was putting $ down id say those jewels will kill just about every fish in there. Almost every tetra (phantoms i recently learnt dont) need a school of at least 6, 8 is a good start.

Wow, quite a few extra fishes in there, are those silver spotted ones Scats? Also try turning your tank light on, then turn out all room lights and shut the curtains. Turn flash on your camera off as well. That will give us better photos to work from.
