Hpw long until my sterbai cory grow to their max size? Also false bandi
I've had them over 8 months and they came in as babies really tiny; now I have 2 females about 2 inches and 4 males maybe 1.25-1.5 inches. the tanks heavily stocked but well cycled, well fed, and I also do more water changes than needed.
I also purchased mostly full grown false bandit corys to keep the others company 3 are maxed size wise according to catelog the other 3 I think might be males and may not grow much larger.
I'd appreciate any advice thx.Long time fish keeper most experience with CA/SA cichlids, natives like sunfish, and aggressive catfish.

Corydoras sterbai may attain 2.6 inches (65mm), but not all fish will reach this maximum. I have had wild caught corys of many species for 20 years, and my C. sterbai have never reached more than 2 inches.
Fish growth depends upon many factors, including foods, environment, tankmates, water conditions. Genetics probably plays into this too, especially if the fish are commercially raised. Even within a species I have seen some fish grow larger and others not, though sometimes this can be male/female.

Something we all need to remember: The fish you've acquired was quite happy not being owned by you, minding its own business. If you’re going to take it under your wing then you’re responsible for it. Every aspect of its life is under your control, from water quality and temperature to swimming space. [Nathan Hill in PFK]

I keep mine with discus and feed few times a day. The c. sterb looooove all the little leftovers in the sand and have def gotten fatter in the 2 months I've had them. While they don't get much bigger than 2 (maybe 2.5?), they will def get BIGGER like wide. Kinda like me...ughCheck out my 55 Gallon, planted, Philly themed community tank!
