but I don't have a microwave. Think I should blanch it?

    Thanks, jeffs99dime!

Warm it in a pot then. You just don't want to introduce it in the tank frozen or uncooked.

You can try any raw veggie for your BNP. For broccoli and cauliflower, do not feed more than 1-2 times a week as they can cause bloat (gas).

Also, if you don't have algae for your otos, here is a good article about their food requirements -
75 gal - Smudge Spot Cories, Silvertip & Pristella Tetras, Scissortail & Red Tail Rasboras, Pearl Gourami, Black Kuhli Loaches, Whiptail Cats, Wild Caught BNP
Dual 29 gals - Diamond Tetras. Harlequin Rasboras, Bloodfin Tetras
    10 Gal - Mr. Betta's Fishy Paradise

Tank looks great, awesome job!...and I agree with the others, a black background would really bring out the details...something as simple as a black posterboard, cut to size then clipped or lightly taped on

Thanks! Sure enough, my otos are thrilled with the zuc in the tank :). The pleco has thus far ignored it...

So, the pleco finally found the zucchini and munched about half a slice. I plan to put another veggie in this week for him to try. Otherwise we are feeding our fish every other day. We have flake and pellet food for the tetras, ram and swordtail and algae wafers for the pleco and otos. How many wafers should we feed a 3.5" BNP and 3 otos? Everyone seems happy and the otos still have roundish bellies, but I am starting to suspect that I need to up the feed since there is hardly a scrap of algae to be seen in my tank now.....
