Marine Land C-360 or...???
I am looking at getting a cannister filter for my 55 gal freshwater tank. I would love to spend $200+ on a Fluval or Eheim, but that isn't in the budget. My main consideration is that is at least rated for twice as much as the tank and that it is quiet (tank in the living room, no cabinet to stow it in). Here are the ones I have found in my budget:
Marine Land C360 for $130
API Filstar L for $122
Rena XP L (use to be Rena Filstar XP3) for $114
Anyone have any experience with any of these? Any other suggestions welcome!
Also, where do you purchase your equipment? Livestock and plants?
Thanks in advance!

Rena XP L/XP3 is a great choice and for 114 it is a great price. Very awesome filter, very easy to use and a total work horse.
I purchased several new Fluval 405s on ebay for under $100 over the past few months in preparation for setting up my tank room. Found several for $90 and free shipping. Also check out SunSun canister filters 2 of the HW302s would be incredible filtration and under $100 for the pair shipped.
I use various online retailers:

The last two filters you list are he same product, just a slightly different listing. What eger you choose to buy make sure you shop around online for the best price. I have a couple of the rena large filters. I like them, they have a lot of room for media (but you have to buy more right away, it doest come with enough).
