Default Nutrafin Water Conditioner for ADF's?

    0 Not allowed!
    Hey everybody! :)
I am getting a new tank for my 2 ADF's soon, and I was wondering if I should get the nutrafin water conditioner? I have never used it for them before, and they have always been fine, so would anybody recommend getting it? Also, I noticed that it is says its for fish, so is it safe for ADF's? I know a lot of things say they are for fish and work fine for other animals, but I wanna be sure. :)

you should always use a water conditioner for all your tanks. chlorine will kill off all your bb pdq. the most popular one here is seachem prime, and ive used API's with good results too. if your water has chlorimines or if you arent sure either way, then use prime.

it's probably too late, but you can find out what's in your water by contacting your water utility company or their web site. I just answered this to another member. I don't know what's in prime or other chloramine removers, but if you can avoid using synthetic chemicals in your water, i feel it is best.

even if you do that, theres not telling what could happen down the line. ALL maniciple water companies either add chlorine or chloramine to their water to disinfect it. prime will remove the chlorine, and chloramine and detox the ammonia released by breaking the chloramine's bond. i think your concerns of using synthetic chemicals is way too over kill. even if they arent adding chloramines and you decide to age the water instead of using prime, theres no telling if/when they switch over to chloramines. it will kill all the bb in your filter and it will harm your fish. ive never heard of prime hurting anything in an aquarium
