Thread: Kalk stirrer

I got a kalk stirrer ordered for my next tank build and got lost.....
I read a bunch of articles and am not sure I'm on it 100%...
Would you add viniger to the stirrer to help break down the cal? Should I be adding mag? Should this be dosing through my ATO system? Amounts? What do you guys recommend (in a nutshell)

I've never used kalk so I can't help you there.
On my reef tank I have a auto dosing unit with three pumps, one for alkalinity, one for calcium, and the third for magnesium. That seams to work really well for me as my set-up uses up each of those three elements at different rates. I can set the dosing amounts based on what is being used up so I don't have to worry about things becoming unbalanced.
But I also like to keep things simpleIf you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

Are you running this in conjunction with a calc reactor?Think with logic and rationality more than emotion. Act with moderation and consideration. Contemplate ideals and realistic goals and weigh out possibilities and options. Temper not with personal delusions or false hope but learn to accept and move on.
