Hi everyone, my name is Andy. I am retired US Army and live in Germany. I have had freshwater Aquariums all my life, and have now finally decided to go for my wifes and I ultimate dream, a Reef Aquarium. We have made some major renovations to our house and decided that this would be the perfect opportunity to go for it. We have purchased a new Auquarium, 145x60x60 cm, so roughly 522 liters, or about 137 gal. Its with and internal filter system, and skimmer. As well as having 2 LED 25000 K lights. We are using a smaller 54 liter aquarium as an automatic refill tank. Thus far I have only set up the base work, water, coral sand, filter material, about 50 kilo stone so no fish or anything yet. Still need to get all the base stuff done, before I add about 50 kilo of Life stones.
If all goes according to plan, which most likely it won't. I should be able to add the Life stones by the end of September, and corals by the end of October, and then fish by the end of November.
I spend a lot of time traveling throughout Germany with my job, so I really only have the weekends to get through the stages.
I would really appreciate anything good tips, and contacts, if there is anyone here in the forum that lives in Germany.
Thanks
Andy

In a way you're lucky. The aquarium hobby is taken quite seriously in Germany. There's some active clubs there as well as some quality equipment manufacturers and some excellent shops.
Perhaps these will help:

If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.
