In my existing 45 gallon tank I have 1 pleco 1 Cory cat 2 danio dangilas and 2 x ray tetras
I am looking to add fish in the next couple days and am definitely adding more Cory cats but would like some ideas for some more fish that swim in the middle to top area of tank and would also like some bigger fish.

Please get some more X-ray tetras at least 8 to make a school of 10, they will be more active and happy that way, another school I would suggest would be any of the following, Rosy tetras, Flame tetras (Von rio), Black phantoms, Rummy nose or Bloodfin tetras.

Also up your Cory cats to at least 6 of the same species.

I can't get 5 different kinds of Cory cars. It should be the same kind as I have now

It is best to have 5-6 of one species, but if you want more than one species, this can be modified. I always try for at least 3 of each species. Sometimes I have no choice--I have found one or two lone fish in a store. Corys are very highly social fish, and they will always be in better health the more there are.

Indeed, and that is what has been suggested. Get more of the same species. This applies to the cories and the x-rays.
