Ammonia 0 ppm NitrItes are 0ppm NitrAtes are 0ppm. My tank has been planted for exactly 1 week this Friday night,
PH is stable at 7.5 temp is stable at 75 degrees. GH is 30 and my KH is 40

    I have the following plants:

Anacharis (Egeria Densa), Bacopa (Bacopa caroliniana), Wisteria (Hygrophila difformis), Anubis Nana, Cryptocoryne Wendtii, Vallisneria Corkscrew and Baby Tears (Hemianthus micranthemoides) and Staurogyne Repens

My substrate consists of 25lbs of mineralized top soil, 30 pounds of sand and enough Carbisea Floramax to make a 1" cap

Filter is an Aqueon 55/75 400gph HOB, and my lighting is an Aqueon dual T5HO with a 6500k and a colormax light..

I'm not sure if my plants are just going through transplant shock, or something worse... Although most all have new green tops, the wisteria is sending out tendrils all over the place, the anubis nana has new growth, and the repens have dbled in size since this Sunday..

What I'm concerned about is the Anacharis, Bacopa and Baby Tears all have lost color up to the middle of the stems, and the leaves on the bacopa and anachris have started to turn clear/red and seem to be melting around the same levels, but all have bright green tops...

Is this normal transplant shock, how should I proceed? should I let them go and wait it out, trim off all the bad leaves, and leave bare stem with the new green on top?

    I'm at a loss...

    Thanks for your help..

    Joe

Quick questions: How long has your tank been set up? Did you feed it ammonia to start the cycle? Asking because it's unusual to have 0 nitrAtes in a cycled tank.

opps typo was typing too fast. NitrAtes are at 10ppm after a 45% water change and it's been up 2 weeks. Cycled with ammonia and no plants first week, planted last friday. Ammonia is going down to 0ppm in an 18 hour period from 2ppm.

55 gallon, 4 rainbow rocks, 2 medium pieces of mopani wood

Okay. Sounds good but you should only be checking every 24 hours :o) Makes a difference.

I'm not a plant expert - many here are. But I do have one planted tank and had a little of what you're talking about. I just trimmed off the dead or dying leaves and everything straightened out within a week or so.
But, if you want answers to plant questions, I'd post a new thread with a subject line specific to a question about your plants and you're sure to get some responses from those with the experience you need. Good luck.
