got the first fish for my tank!
I am finally done with cycling, and my plants are in too, and I got my first fish today! They are swordtails, and right now they are in my tank-floating. Not dead floating thought!
Just being acclimatized!

i would just leave her...che is probably hiding somewhere.....my male swordtails does this to me all of the time and you just have to wait and she should come out when she gets used to her surroundings.
congrats on the swords....they are a very nice fish. What colour did you get?

I was going to get a yellow kind with red and black markings, but I got a kind that it that clear/white/grey fishy color. More natural. There is also a pale yellow horizontal stripe. The male has 3 horizontal bands on his "sword-tail". The top is yellow, middle is black, and bottom is black. The 2 females and the male like slowly swimming on the surface, and then they go wild, and dart to the bottom and swim between the plants. Very lively. They are very nice fish. I ruffled the plants a little to get the "dust" of the plants, and then I left for about a minute, and came back and I think I saw the female that was missing. Maybe it was just one of the present female's reflection, because when I came back 5 minutes later, she was gone. Its the ghost of the fish!

I still can't find her. Maybe if she is not there tommorrow I will get another. Are swordtails supposed to eat flakes? Mine only seem to eat them once they get hydrated and sink. They only catch 3-4 flakes befor they hit the bottom. Is this enough food a day? I think they need a very small, slowly sinking pellet.

they're jus getting used to when you feed them and since their the first in the tank they have no one to set an example. they'll catch on eventually.
As for the missing one i'm not really sure what to say sorry :(
