  1. Default Saying goodbye to my parrots

This is super sad. My 180 has been up for 2 weeks now and my parrots have turned into MONSTERS, they have always been aggresive feeders, but know they are like well very mean cichlids. Nipping angel fins. Running and head butting my sevs that bigger than them. All params are good and No new fish. Just bigger tank

Have you given them places to claim as territory of their own? Rock caves? Clay Pots? Someplace where they can satisfy their territorial tenancies? Try some tall pieces of driftwood or something to break their line of sight so they don't constantly feel the need to challenge.
I know you really like them and they are great fish so I'd sure try a few things before you give up on them.
    good luck

Have you tried the opposite with no decorations? This prevents them from setting up territory and trying to defend it.

How many parrots do you have?

What sized tank did you upgrade from? I found this with my severums. In my 65g they were very docile but as soon as they went into the 120g they started squabbling all the time. I assume it's because they didn't have room to form territories before and so they're busy doing just that as soon as they get into a bigger tank.

The benefit with parrots is they can't do much damage at all to other fish. I have 3 parrots and the biggest one, the male, sometimes tried to chase off my biggest severum. He can't bite though so it's harmless.

You still have some reference points with the DW and plants in the substrate. But removing the DW could cause problems with your cats. Best to rehome the parrots. It's always a crap shoot with cichlid aggression.

we sit up a big tank at gf's moms and my king kong parrot has a functioning closing mouth and can and does do damage to the sevs, they will be moved tomorrow as I put cycle media in new tank with a few platies, just making sure all is ok. before the move. it is sad I do love those stooges, there is 3, lol always bobbing around together squabbling with each other( nothing serious till now though)

maybe a time out will help and you will be able to reintroduce them to the tank at some point. you just never know with fish
