I'm sure no one has. They're tropical birds. Not commonly kept as pets, and presumably quite hard to care for. Do you have previous experience caring and raising birds? This really is not a species commonly owned or purchased, they're actually quite common in zoos though. Why exactly have you been asked to take it into your care if I may ask?My 10 Gallon Aquarium Journal
10 Gallon Planted: 1x Apistogramma trifasciata, 8x Nannostomus marginatus
20 Gallon: 1x Mikrogeophagus ramirezi, 10x Nannostomus beckfordi, 3x Otocinclus vittatus

Yes they are exotic birds. They are not common but they are present in the pet trade and they are breed by a number of commercial breeders, noteable emerald forrest.
Do not worry. I have experince with tropical birds and toucans as well. I just never kept this particular species. I do not forsee any problem keeping this species but it never hurts to do some research and ask around a little bit anyway.
You can see my keelbilled toucans in their aviary here.
The old owner is looking for a new home for it since he cant give it the time or care that it deserves and need.Do as I say. Not as I do.

It is now living with my toucans after a couple of days of acclimization. Seems to be getting along great. (pack birds).
