Looks to me like a gold ram, basically a yellow version of the blue ram.

indeed some type of ram but whatever it is it looks stressed out.
    no coulor at all
i hear some people say, "i kept a goldfish in a bowl and it lived for a year."
they don't know how lucky they were and all goldfish live at least 15 years in proper conditions.
that is equal to saying my human lived in his closet for 5 years!

Male Golden Ram. I hope your water parameters are of good quality. Ram's need an aged tank with 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, and low nitrates of no more then 20ppm.
Warning; Bulldog Pleco guarding my Sons tank now..

Please remember; every keystroke has a consequence.

My rams live and have great color in 8.1 ph, hard water. Breeding at high ph have been documented but I believe the hatch and survival rate goes down. A gold ram should have an orange nose with bright yellow front half, and bright blue speckled back half.

Edit: a happy male ram will have that coloration, females are yellow with a bright pink belly, use frozen meaty foods, brine shrimp, bloodworms etc to color him up.

I don't mean to brag, but my water parameters are pristine. I use dual filtration and test regularly. I keep my PH at a neutral 7.0 and my nitrates never go above 10 ppm. And thanks to you guys I was able to identify it, and be sure I have the proper environment. There are plenty of good hiding spaces for him to establish his territory and his diet will fit in perfectly with my regular feedings, including brine shrimp (Frozen Artemia and freeze dried spirulina), veggie mix, various flakes, and the occasional blood worm treat. His color has increased significantly today and he is quite active. Also during feeding time he ate voraciously so I am thinking he is doing well.

Thanks for the suggestions. They are quite helpful and greatly appreciated! Keep them coming.

Well good for you, but evidence shows that most do better in softer, acidic water.
