African Dwarf frogs-questions
I can't find any heading that these would fit under, but I want to get a couple ADFs. They would be in my 20 gallon, along with a female betta, 2 male guppies and cherry shimp. Are ADFs able to contract columnaris? Reason I ask is, I've had a recurring problem with a virulent form of this disease and have lost many fish to it. I don't want to get the frogs if there's any chance of them getting it. No one, so far, as been able to answer (on other forums). Can anyone help me? Thanks!

columaris, is a bacterial infection most common for fish, that is a known fact. but it is possible to spread to other water bound animals as well. water dogs can get it, tadpoles can get it, im sure adfs can get it too. if you are having a recuring issue with this then there is something horribly wrong with your setup, or water. if you are off of well water it might just be your water supply. if thats the case i would recommend trying to treat your entire well or boil water or bleach it and then dechlorinate it.
a problem like this should be a rare occurrence in any aquarium.KING OF THE GOLD BARBS RAWR!!!!

Yes, ADF can get Columaris. They don't tolerate it well either, and usually treatments tend to kill the delicate little things. Until you know the cause of the infection breakouts, avoid getting ADF's. You will likely be unable to medicate sick fish either, with ADF in the tank.2 10 gallon tanks, 1 20 gallon tank, 1 Fluval Edge, 1 29 gallon tank, and one backyard pond.
