I know that feeling. A lot of legal music content isn't available to us.

Hmm... perhaps you need to do some experimenting, see what your taste is and if you are interested in more adult flavours? I don't know. Personally I never say no to a salade nicoise.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/programmes/b00vt10m has a lot of recipes.

That's one thing that's good...while we eat 'bland'...all 5 of us like salads and veggies. When my younger son was little he'd go to a fast food restaurant and ask for 'rice and ceasar salad'. He just didn't understand why they didn't have that as a menu option. He's still a big rice eater (vs. potatoes).

We also do a lot of stir-fries in the winter. Easy...and everyone eats it. Left-overs get used up as well.

I also know how to look at a recipe and modify it for my pickiness. :) And I'm slowly trying to get better... Change is glacial, though. I'm slowly picking apart what is learned dislike vs actual dislike, and that's allowing things to open up for me.

I can access the recipes on that site, it looks like, so I'll pour over it. :)

Yeah, mom struggled to get us (read, my dad and I) to eat veggies. Sometimes I'm able to force myself to eat more veggies, sometimes I'm not. What's becoming one of my go-to throw-together meals is to, instead of the taco meat I listed in the first post, use 1 can fat free refried bean, 1/2 lb ground beef (browned and drained), and 2 cups frozen veggies, plus spices. I still get the satisfaction of eating beef, I've stretch it with refried beans (that I also love), and I've added a bunch of veggies to it. In fact, I'm trying to force myself to eat more veggies by adding frozen veggies to a lot of things I used to prepare without them.

Starches... It's funny, as a kid you could not get me to eat rice. Then I started eating the family rice as a teenager, and now I eat it a lot more often than potatoes (though I still enjoy potatoes, I'm just not cooking them as much). I've discovered that it's plain rice I don't like, which allowed me to open things up and just cook it with flavorful ingredients, even if that's just stock and aromatics.

As a kid, the only way to get me to eat salad was to drown it in thousand island dressing. Now I've switched to drowning it in hot salsa, the few times I eat salad. A much healthier dressing. LOL

We use Nigel Slater a lot. His "Real Cooking" book is excellent.
