Sometimes younger discus parents will do that, hopefully with age they will stop. A trick some discus breeders use it to put a mesh barrier around the eggs to stop parents from eating the eggs. I use a bare tank with no decor or substrate in it for my breeding discus pair. I put a discus cone in the tank, basically looks like a construction cone made out of fired clay, the discus will lay eggs on it. With my younger cobalt pair, I have a mesh cone I put over the clay one to keep the parents from eating the eggs.
