I agree. I hope that my ordering experience goes well with them. Nothing worse than thinking you found the perfect store only to be disappointed later. I've had that happen before.

I think the tank looks fantastic and i'm really looking forward to seeing the rosalines and loaches especially since i'm not familiar with either and this will be a great journal to learn about them. I did just see a thread "goodbye" that featured some beautiful pictures of lemon tetras that would look stunning in your tank also. Can't wait to see the driftwod & plants next!

Thanks for the compliments on my tank, I guess it's a good thing if it already looks nice with nothing in it :)

Steeler your video makes me antsy, I'm so ready for my fishypoos.

On another note, my driftwood came in the mail today!!!! YAY!

I had to rush off to work, so I didn't get to take pics. I bought it off ebay. The seller packaged it really well, but a small branch broke off of the largest piece. I am doing a test with some left over aquarium safe silicone to see if it will bond wood to wood. When I get home tonight, if it works, I'm going to silicone the branch back on. It's a tiny little piece so if I can't get it to go back on, it won't detract from the overall look of the driftwood.

    I'll post pics tonight! :)

Yee-haw, I wanna see what you picked out!

The DW is what's holding up my build, I'm using some we found, but it is taking FOREVER (OK, a little over a week so far) to get waterlogged...I am going by a brick and stone place when I leave work to see if I can get some slate pieces to hold it down, tired of waiting

Yeah Slap get the slate. I have seen it take months to waterlog before. When you get the slate, attach it with the least amount and smallest stainless steel screws possible. That way if you ever want to take the slate off and turn the piece a different way, there's only one or two small holes to hide.

Alrighty..here are pictures of the driftwood. There's one big piece and one small piece. I'm going to have a lot of plants and maybe some rocks in this tank so I wanted to have some nice looking wood, but not so much that it outshines the plants.

The seller I got it from on eBay is very reputable and looks to have done an extremely good job of cleaning the wood with a power washer. I am going to put it in the bath tub with the hottest water I can get to soak for a couple hours. Our hot water heater is set to scalding so that will help. I'm also going to boil several rounds of water and dump it over the wood.
I don't know if I really need to be doing all that but I just want to cover all the bases.

Got the wood in the tank today. Just waiting for the cloudiness to die down a little to take some pictures.
I think I'm going to end up getting my first batch of fish from Wet Spot after all. I called that fish store back that I found the other day. They told me they could order in the fish but that they have had an inordinate amount of rummynose tetras dying lately shortly after being shipped and that many of the ones who make it have to battle ick in isolation before being sold. So they said that if they order 20 in for me they won't be able to guarantee them.

I'm glad they were up front with me about it, but I called Anthony for a price quote today and it's not going to cost me that much more to have them shipped so I'd rather just go that route than deal with the headache of ick and weak stock in my first batch of fish. Especially considering the price tag of the roselines.
