    Ehh..

    gas mileage?
impossibility of parking it anywhere in an urban area over here (parking spaces are designed for a VW Golf it seems)
noise insulation that makes listening to a CD on the highway just about impossible.

    you asked...

But I recognize the feeling from the days when my wife drove a real mini. Other drivers greet you and despite a list of practical issues it's likeable and full of character. I suspect the same goes for these Jeeps.

Practicality does not make a vehicle fun to drive...there is a huge difference in a point A-B vehicle and something which you can really enjoy. My cars are by no means practical and for some a huge waste of time with their feed bill and high insurance rates...but all of those things seem petty behind the wheel

Very nice wranglers posted above...I have an 2011 Unlimited...very nice vehicle which thanks to a lift and the size of the thing being equivalent to a suburban tank does not fit well in very many places. Probably going to trade it this fall for something smaller...probably a 2door smaller version.

For me it is practical...and I'm willing to pay more for that practicality. I really really want the clearance and the V6 - and hopefully I won't get stuck anymore and have to rely on others to pull me out of whatever I'm stuck in.

And I do like the look! Have since I was a kid. It was a selling feature too (the bonus). I also like that the look doesn't change. I might have gotten another KIA...I was happy with mine...but they've changed them entirely and they don't fit my needs anymore...

...oh yes...and by 'car' I meant 'vehicle' ...lol...not 'sedan' or 'hatchback', etc...

talldutchie: And the key was $277! I wish it was only $27.

Goes to 11: There's a wave? I do the country wave when I'm not gripping the steering wheel...now I need to do a Jeep wave? LOL. BTW...nice Sport!

I also drive my 1999 diesel Ford 250, which is a bit shorter than my husband's 2011 EcoBoost 150...so the 4-door Jeep didn't feel too big, but I still like the size of the smaller 2-door regardless. And it turns on a dime, so the bit of parking I experimented with at the mall was just fine. While I like driving the big trucks...I really really hate parking them in the city...it was becoming a stressor for me...so I didn't want that for my main vehicle.

Part of the reason for getting this Jeep was to cut down on some of the things that tend to personally stress me out...lol.

For a $277 I hope it is one with a key fob attached to it. If you bought it from a dealership ask them to give you a discount on another key as a favor since you did just buy from them. It you are really brave ask for the employee cost (which at the gm dealership I worked at was 10% over cost, or they should have a wholesale cost that is somewhede between cost and list). Also since you just bought they should at least send you some coupons.

Hint: keep a set of your registration somewhere not in the jeep. Here in the us if you lock your keys in and want the dealership to cut a key for you, you have to prove you own it and hand over your license too. Helps lower car theft rates because otherwise anyone could stand by your car write down the vin number and go get themselves a key.

$277 for a key seems like extortion.

... I admit I rarely park my Jeep over there but... I suspect you have confused a Jeep Wrangler with something FAR larger..
For the record: My Jeep is 3" narrower and 10" shorter in length than a '13 VW Golf.
noise insulation that makes listening to a CD on the highway just about impossible. .. Not really.. Two words 'Sound reinforcement' .. BTW, What is 'noise insulation'? ;-P

Yup, One form of camaraderie Wrangler owners have [Aside from our shared suffering as noted above :-P) is doing the 'Jeep wave' to each other :-D it's always nice to give/get a friendly wave from total strangers when out and about.. It's a culture that I hope the dealership told Rue about.

Lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part.
Why pretend there are no stupid questions? Actually, There are many stupid questions: "Should I drink this bleach?" Is just one example.
Having said that, Just because it's a stupid question doesn't mean that it shouldn't be asked. It's better to know.

Your dealer is REALLY slacking if they didn't mention this lol..

It's not that there's a particular stylistic type of wave [though some claim there is].. It's about who you wave to but the idea is easy to grasp and there are some really extensive and hilarious 'rules' wrt the wave posted online.

    See here: https://www.google.com/search?q=jeep...hrome&ie=UTF-8

    Effectively it's this:

You always wave at any other real JEEP [Typically Defined as: One where the doors go on/off easily = CJ, YJ, TJ or JK] .. Always.

It doesn't matter if you get one back.. people are busy sometimes, Or don't see you.. or they just don't know... If you see the same jeep daily and they never wave... Keep waving at them ... They may catch on one day.

It seems to be alot of the newer owners that are not wave savvy but meh... Them not knowing about it doesn't affect those of us who do wave :-D

It's just a nice friendly thing to do.
