Lol healthy aquatic animals will not have problems getting to the top of a tank whether it is tall or long. However, I wouldn't put the frogs in with fish, they need a species specific tank or your fish will go missing. Here is some very good information about african clawed frogs http://aquaticfrogs.tripod.com/id25.html
When I go fishing I just place a sharp rock in the water and sit there waiting for all the dead fish to float to the top... Kingfisher
Brutal honesty will be shown on this screen.
I think my fish is adjusting well to the four gallon, He's laying on his side attempting to go to sleep on the bottom of the gravel.
Tolerance is a great thing to have, so is the ability to shut up.

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

good points on the frogs not mixing with fish. Someone else on the forum posted that it's not good for frogs to be in deep tanks because they are nearly blind and will have difficulty finding the surface. Made sense to me :o).

I'm going to get African dwarf frogs not African clawed frogs. The dwarf frogs are too small to eat the fish I'm getting

The same website posted by Honey Badger also has info on ADFs: According to this article, you can keep ADFs with other fish, but it also says ADFs are not strong swimmers, and would be stressed in a tall tank from having to reach the surface all the time.

That's why I'm going to keep a close eye on them and be prepared to set up another tank in case they need it

I find it hard to believe an aquatic animal has problems swimming up. However when I first posted that I changed from ADF to ACF without realizing it while researching a good website. That article also states this "I strongly suggest keeping African Dwarf Frogs in a tank by themselves. They are much easier to observe and more active when in their own tank. I personaly think they do better off in their own tank with other dwarfs as company. I keep my dwarfs in a tank to themselves with a few otto cats for algea clean up, it is a great setup and the frogs are thriving." (http://aquaticfrogs.tripod.com/id26.html)

Put the filter floss from my lfs in my filter tonight :-) they gave me a ton-about the same size as the foam insert for my aquaclear 110 power filter! My water clouded immediately after putting it in but my filter quickly had it clear again (makes me feel good about the filter I have running)...Will test my parameters in the morning. Fingers crossed that this cycles my tank quickly
